Before and after: Cervantes Apartment
Creating a domestic space in which to relax and enjoy family moments, was the greatest desire of the owners of Cervantes Apartment. Located in the exclusive Barcelona neighborhood of Pedralbes, we found our next interior design and decoration project.
A house that needed some changes in its interior design and decoration to become a more practical and functional home, in addition to revalue its high standing character.
The great challenge in this project has been to propose a new distribution with the client’s requirements. In addition to preserving the original rectangular geometry of the building, which is broken by certain architectural elements, characteristic of the informalist aesthetics of the Cervantes Tower built by Antonio Bonet.
In this context, and with a family script of marriage with three children, the client, gives us the opportunity to adapt one of these spaces in height, about 195m2, to a program of functionality typical of a post-pandemic context.
Today we come to talk about our last reform for a family apartment in Barcelona of 195m2. An integral interior design project in which we have readjusted both the day areas; a large living room with fireplace, a large office for teleworking and a modern kitchen with office area.
As well as the rooms of the night area; a splendid master suite with integrated bathroom, three more bedrooms for teenage children and three bathrooms.
Keys to reform
The visual order has been one of the main premises to reform this family apartment in Barcelona. The owners had the objective of adapting each of their domestic spaces to family life.
Therefore, they opted for a diaphanous distribution, both in day areas and in the rest rooms.
The day area of the house consists of three clearly differentiated spaces: a large office for work, followed by a warm living room with magnificent views and a nice living-dining room to share with family and friends.
These rooms are accessed through an imposing hall, decorated to the smallest detail with high quality oak wood, which serves as the backbone of the house.
The living room features a gas fireplace and a bookcase, designer pieces that become the main protagonists of the space.
The stove, on the other hand, stands out for incorporating an innovative invisible induction system. An accessory that, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, facilitates cooking and cleaning tasks.
In the second area of the Cervantes Apartment we find a large suite with separate bathroom, designed to be a private corner of rest and relaxation.
In addition to the three bedrooms of the couple’s teenage children. Bedrooms that, saving the distances, have the same dimensions and similar spaces for rest or study.
