Project keys
Clients come to Molins Design to plan the entire interior design and decoration of a newly built 180 m² apartment located in Esplugues de Llobregat. A young couple with two small children who have just bought a home to establish their family home in a residential area close to the upper area of Barcelona.
The project consisted of transforming a completely cold and empty home into a modern family home, adapted to the needs of the owners and where space could be optimized to the maximum.
The general distribution of the apartment is described on a single floor, where the day area is presented as an open space with an open kitchen, and the night area is developed through a hallway.
Moreover, the apartment has a large balcony that hugs the entire perimeter of the house. In fact, the balcony widens in the day area; becoming a generous terrace with high views where you can see the sea from afar.
A completely open and cozy day area
The day area of the home is presented as a completely open and diaphanous space. In which the living room, dining room, kitchen and a small hall area are fully integrated and connected in a modern and sophisticated space in which, at the same time, each one has its own space.
To have a smooth transition and keep the space open, a set of oak wood slats was designed as a screen, thus creating a dividing element between the hall and the kitchen. That prevents the first thing you see when entering from being the side of the kitchen.
Following the hall, there is one of the most outstanding elements of the project: a magnificent, large custom-made library. Starting with the desire to include a water vapor chimney in the script, it was decided to look for an idea of marked horizontality.
The oak wood, marked and stained naturally, turned out to be a winning combination.
A master bedroom with open dressing room
The suite has a very minimalist and warm aesthetic and a simple layout with clean lines. The double bed is framed by a custom-made headboard at half height. Made with vertical panels upholstered in delicate beige velvet to match the upholstery of the bed structure.
Beige is the neutral tone that plays as a base color, which is why it is also present in the custom-made rug that covers the rest area and the wave curtains made in Trevira by Creation Baumann.
A terrace with high views
The house has a fantastic large terrace that serves the entire day area and from which, thanks to the height at which the property is located, there are views of the entire city and the sea.
The terrace has a solarium area with the renowned Point Jazz loungers, as well as a chill out area with armchairs and a dining area equipped with comfortable Kettal furniture.
