Before and after: Casa Ron
The owners of Casa Ron commissioned us to carry out a restyling project to give a new air to the interior rooms of their home, located in the heart of the city of Barcelona, and fully accommodated to the new times. However, and as the proposal for this single-family house progressed in time, the project ended up being a comprehensive reform, both of interior and exterior spaces.
The objective of our clients was to create spaces that invited, at all times, to the family union. Originally, the house was divided into two floors; the lower one, with an extensive living-dining room dedicated to the leisure area, as well as a spectacular kitchen equipped to the last detail. On the upper floor, we find the rest area, which provides the whole of the house with a fair game between designer furniture and unique pieces of art.
Keys to reform
But, without a doubt, the reform that we worked the most was that of the outdoor patio with pool. In fact, the owners dreamed of creating a large outdoor terrace, to be able to meet with the family at any time of the year. For this reason, from Molins Design we make the most of each space. Thus, we set up a spectacular relaxation area and a covered pergola as an outdoor dining room.
Inside the pergola we find an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, an area of tables and chairs to enjoy family meals and even a small courtesy bathroom. An outdoor space that, together with the pool, functions as a second home for the summer season. In addition, we decided to allow this outdoor dining room through sliding glass doors, a material that gives the space a greater visual amplitude.
For the reform of the pool, a double objective was thought; Give it a space where you can enjoy exercising, but also locate an area where you can relax and unwind. Therefore, we opted to install a pool with a countercurrent swimming system, capable of varying the level or intensity of the water to taste.
In this outdoor exercise, we also managed to convert some of the architectural obstacles in the house into design elements. This was the case of the garden wall or enclosure, converted into a beautiful vertical garden.
