Before & after: Bea House

The Bea House project is one of our best interior design proposals for single-family houses. This new intervention, conceived and executed by the architecture and design studio Molins Design, provides more practical and functional solutions for each of the rooms of the house. But, at the same time, it has a much fresher and contemporary look than the original.
The owners, a young couple with two children, bought their new home in one of the quietest and most sophisticated neighborhoods in the outskirts of Madrid: Torrelodones. Very close to the city, and only a few minutes by car from the Guadarrama mountain range, we find this spectacular and original single-family house of eclectic and rustic style.
Reform's keys
The renovation that we have in hand becomes a project 100% committed to the environment. In fact, one of the key objectives of the renovation was to connect the environment of the house with its natural surroundings. Due to the events that took place when the pandemic was over, this family decided to move to a quieter place, where they could telework and enjoy every moment with their family.
First of all, we keep certain rooms in their original form. This was the case of the kitchen, the outside perimeters and one of the bathrooms on the second floor. Nevertheless, and for the rest of the spaces in the house, we consolidated the idea of abandoning the old visual references. For this reason, we left behind certain factors such as the presence of exposed brickwork in interior details. However, the most important reform was the change of the traditional handmade ceramic floor for a new porcelain tile floor.
For the back and the front of the kitchen we carried out a trowel work as if it were a cosmetic surgeon’s scalpel. In this interior design for a single-family house we made incisions to eliminate the excess volumes, and we were able to apply to it a new dress adjusted to a more linear volume.
As for the interior decoration, we opted for materials with textures and colors in stone tones. Thus, the furniture and decorative accessories become elements that combine with each other and flow in harmony. In addition, we took advantage of the occasion to place large mirrors, backlit backlit shelves, iron frames and other elements of order.
Another of the most interesting interventions was the reform of the staircase that connects to the second floor of the house. For this architectural element it was decided to conserve the original barana and turn it into a spectacular design wooden ladder.
On the second floor it is worth highlighting the proposal of aesthetic readaptation of the master suite, as well as the reform that was carried out for the master bathroom. Two unique spaces, with a great interior design work, which are consolidated as the best kept jewel of Bea House.
