Design of staircases for single-family houses

Modern, minimalist, classic… The stairs for single-family houses complete an important aesthetic task in your living room and can become practical and multifunctional when space is limited. And it is that, taking advantage of the space that remains under it you can also create new environments, such as a rest area, a bathroom, a reading room… according to the needs of your home.
Stairs for single-family houses
To make the perfect scale for your living room, you have to take into account some parameters, such as the design, the dimensions, the budget, the space we want to take advantage of, the materials with which it will be made or how it will adapt to the decoration, among others. In addition, safety and functionality are two fundamental elements that must be planned well in advance.
Detail well the shape and aesthetics of the interior scale, because later it will be difficult to change it! Which one is the most suitable for your living room? Keep reading!
Typologies of stairs
The stairs that are most commonly used in the floors (depending on the shape and arrangement) are the straight stairs. These can have many variations, such as the round trip, formed by two sections in opposite directions after the landing. The L-shaped, composed of a first section followed by a wide landing, and, later, a second section, or the corbels, which can be oval, elliptical or semicircular, are also a tendency. Among these last ones are the famous caragol stairs, perfect if the space we have is reduced, although sometimes they are uncomfortable if we have to carry a bulky object.
As for the compensated stairs, these combine straight sections with corbels, but without an abrupt change in the design. For this reason, a compensation from the straight section to the corb is made gradually and subtly.
On the other hand, the suspended scales (with slats coming out of the wall) are more and more requested. Although their installation and placement is complex, the results are impressive. The structure that supports the scale is completely invisible, so it will give the impression that the slats have no subjection.

What materials to use for an interior stairs?
Interior staircases are usually made of metal, wood, masonry or formwork. Another alternative option, if we have sufficient budget, is to make them of glass, as it provides an elegant and modern touch. The wood scale is usually used for interiors with a more contemporary or minimalist design.
The shape and arrangement of the scale marks and defines the rest of the design of the environment. It is also possible to combine materials such as wood and wood-grain.
How to illuminate the interior stairs?
There are different solutions to illuminate the interior stairways. The objective is to create a different atmosphere and offer greater security. In this way, you can illuminate the lower sides with LEDs or recessed spotlights; with a pendant light (or set of lights) or with recessed spotlights.
If we opt for the illumination of scales with recessed focus, it would be a very good option, since it would achieve a correct illumination, in an indirect way, of all the slides of our scale. It would also be the case if we apply led tires. With this new technology (a trend increasingly used and easy to install) we will have a wide range of possibilities and we will be able to illuminate, for example, the edge of each slat.

Stairs, protagonist of projects
Molins Design has a large number of projects with the stairs as a star element of the design. Examples are the projects of the Rechson Penthouse, a luxury attic in Madrid; Mansan House, an interior design project with a modern and elegant scale with a sinuous curved balcony or the Bilov Penthouse, with a beautiful staircase with a glass balcony.
The Équer House, with a splendid design scale surrounded by Mediterranean architecture, and the Vibar Penthouse, in the upper area of Barcelona, where the scale was reformulated to gain space, are other design projects conceived by Molins Design.
