THE HISTORICAL BUREAU RETHINKED AS A PRODUCT DESIGN
The bureau term comes from the old French term 'Burel'. During the Renaissance evolved into what is now known as furniture designed and built with the aim of writing.
With the appearance of typewriters and the loss of the habit of writing by hand, the furniture evolved towards the reduction of drawers and the provision of more free space on the table, which is why our design approaches this concept.
It becomes then a piece of classic design with current functionalities, where the finishes make the difference. The edges have been polished and an area covered in leather that modernizes it is introduced. Likewise the legs have an express will of lightness contrary to their history, while it has also been braced as can be seen by the tensioners
It's a thick cloth of the middle age with which a writing table was covered.
Bureau Saneja is made in oak with the leather of the tapestry. The tensioners that engage the legs are made of steel.
