Molins Design interior design project: phases and duration

Interior design project phases
In a previous article we already talked about the phases that make up the Molins Design decoration projects. Therefore, in today’s article we will focus on the stage prior to decoration: how to make an interior design project.
As you may well know, interior design for bars and restaurants is totally different from interior design for offices or interior design for houses.
Each proposal to be carried out has its own characteristics, working materials and different ways of working. However, all the interior design projects that we deal with in Molins Design studio consist of 4 key phases for its optimal development:
1.- First contact
This is one of the most important phases of interior design projects. Before starting any interior design it is necessary to know closely your needs and concerns. It is essential to know what you like, what you want to include in your home or business premises and what is going to be the approximate budget you have in mind to spend.
In this first contact we will get to know the space, we will take pictures and measurements of each room to work on. All this, to see and think about each and every one of the possibilities that the space can offer. At this point we must think that it will not be the same to work a project in a city environment or urban context, than a second home, commercial or office.
2.- New interior design proposal
This is undoubtedly the most extensive and important stage of the project. In this phase it is essential to translate the new interior organization into a floor plan layout proposal. All this, adapted to your needs and inputs that you have given us in the initial phase.
Once the floor plan has been distributed and when the briefing is 100% connected with your requests, we will move on to the detailed section of each of the spaces. That is, sectioning the different elevations of each room or area to work: the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, the office?
Then comes the choice of materials (flooring, coatings, wood, lighting, accessories …) It is time to list each and every one of the materials that will be part of the interior design that we are going to reform. To do this, from the Molins Design studio we glimpse and choose different materials space by space, so that it is as adapted as possible to your needs and desires.
3.- Rendering
In this phase we resort to a design and decoration program, in which a compilation of all the materials of the space, the plants and the elevations is made. All this, to make a 3D plan of the interior design. That is, we create our roadmap on a large scale, to visualize a preview of how the reform will be.
4.- Decorative report and valuation
Also called informative dossier or set of information and documents on the interior design proposal. This report includes the materials used, the measurements of each room and everything necessary to create the final budget for the renovation.
This phase, known as the phase prior to the execution phase, includes in writing each and every one of the client’s agreed interventions. Something fundamental in personalized interior design projects.
Hire an interior designer
The duration of an interior design project will depend on the complexity of the project. But, as a general rule, our interior design and decoration professionals take about two months for renovations or interventions of one room and five or six months for more complex interior design projects.
