Cárdenas House
For this 220m2 house’s living room renovation located in the upper area of Barcelona we sought to improve the available space.
Also, our team worked in the design of the living room so that its furniture was integrated seamlessly with the predominant tone of the room. This premise was extended to the library area with fireplace.
To create a more comfortable and modern living area we chose two sofas upholstered by Molins Design with Gastón & Daniela fabric and two complete chaise longue made by our team with Güell Lamadrid fabric.
The coffee tables with cream pearl marble tops in glazed finish and matt black baked iron feet, are an exclusive design of our team.
The Molins Design team completely changes the interior design of modern housing in the Cárdenas project, an old building from the 70s.
Located in the heart of Barcelona, the interior design and decoration of the original house asked for a restyling. The main objective of the renovation was the redistribution of spaces, as well as improving the entry of natural light into the home.
When working on designing modern homes, there are countless options. However, in this interior architecture project we focused on creating wide and luminous spaces.
In fact, the original interior of the house had many rooms, but they were poorly used. The need to adapt the house to a large family, as well as the possibility of bringing much more natural light into the rooms, marked the main lines of the intervention.
For this project we designed one of the most spectacular bookcases that we have created in our trajectory as an interior design studio.
We thought of a functional design that would be comfortable and easy to use for the client and his family.
Therefore, we took advantage of every available corner, improved the lighting and even placed a design fireplace.
This backlit living room library consists of fixed panels, a niche for the TV and fireplace, a bookcase and a bookshelf with melamine interior and oak veneer exterior, custom-made by our team.

In the center of the living and dining area we found an untimely column, which we turned into a bookshelf. This provided a fully integrated living and dining area.
In addition, we took the opportunity to create a new work area integrated into the living room -a desire of the owners-, custom-made by Molins Design and manufactured with melamine interiors and lacquered exterior in oak veneer.
The office chairs chosen are the Ayla model with upholstered seat and backrest and fabric base with a central swivel leg with 4 solid beech wood blades by Andrew World.
Style and sobriety in the dining room
With the redistribution and the removal of partitions in some areas, we managed to gain natural light. The clarity that enters today in the rooms of the house gives the home a totally different character, as we can see in the dining area.
In this space, we also added a striking and sophisticated design luminaires, the model “Etch Web Steel Pendant Stainless Steel” by Tom Dixon. These spectacular brass ceiling lamps are formed by flat metal sheets finely perforated and joined with tabs, which reflect an intricate set of shadows, very suggestive.

Regarding the overall aesthetics, the premise of the owners was to achieve sober and elegant spaces. Therefore, all the decoration is in this line, with some touches of color, but without making a great tour of different palettes.
The furniture was custom designed by the interior design studio Molins Design, as in the dining area, whose table and dining room furniture, consisting of top plus base in DM and a buc of two drawers with melamine interior and varnished exterior, are an own design of our team.
The dining chairs with upholstered seat and backrest and solid beech wood legs are an Andrew World design, from the same collection as those chosen for the office.
To design this spacious kitchen we also added a independent office area. Equipped with the Reverse dining table model, with a central base in polyethylene finished in matte white and matte white lacquered table top, from Andrew World and a set of chairs in white finish and natural wood legs from Infiniti Design.
The hanging lamps over the office table are the Pila model in white finish, from the specialized lighting firm Estiluz.
