Finestrelles Apartment
The clients came to Molins Design to propose the interior design and decoration of a new construction apartment of 180 m2 located in Esplugues de Llobregat. A young couple with two young children who have just bought a house to establish their family home in a residential area close to the upper area of Barcelona.
In recent years, Esplugues de Llobregat has gained notoriety in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Known for its old town, its cultural offerings and its proximity to nature, it has been able to modernize without losing its essence.
International educational institutions and the proximity to the city of Barcelona have made Esplugues an attractive place for families and elite athletes. A place with all services within reach, just a few minutes from Barcelona and with a great quality of life.
A decoration project for a modern apartment in Esplugues de Llobregat in which we transform a newly built house into a modern home for a family in one of the most demanded areas near Barcelona.
Decoration project for modern apartment in Esplugues de Llobregat
The clients contacted Molins Design shortly after buying the house that was under construction. They wanted the Molins team to accompany them in the choice of finishes offered by the construction company and to make all the furniture and decoration proposal for this modern apartment in Barcelona.
The project consisted of transforming a totally cold and empty house into a family home. A decoration for a modern apartment adapted to the needs of the owners and where to optimize the space to the maximum.
The general distribution of this decoration project for modern apartment in Esplugues de Llobregat is described on a single floor, where the day area is presented as an open space with open kitchen, and the night area is developed through a corridor distributor.
The apartment has a large balcony that embraces the entire perimeter of the house. This balcony widens in the day area, becoming a generous terrace with views of height, in which you get to appreciate the sea from afar.
A cozy warm autumn living room decor
The day area is presented as a completely open space. Living room, dining room, kitchen and a small hall are fully connected in a sophisticated space in which, at the same time, each one has its own space.
Next to the foyer is one of the most outstanding elements of the project: a magnificent, large, custom-made library with a steam fireplace.
Starting with the desire to include a built-in steam fireplace in the script, we opted for an idea of marked horizontality, where the oak wood marked and stained in natural, proved to be a winning combination.
A library living room furniture with a built-in steam fireplace
The library living room furniture is the design piece par excellence in this modern apartment in Barcelona.
The central part of the library houses the television and the steam fireplace, which uniquely complemented the decorative ensemble of the block on the right.
To give rhythm and sense to the geometry of the elevation, an area combining storage, and a set of decorative niches was included on both sides.
Warm decor for modern aesthetics
Following the idea and the trend of mixing wood with modern elements turned out to be a success in the composition of this warm autumn living room decor.
The combination of decorative objects selected by the Molins Design team and the combination of large format books or coffee table books turned out to be a very attractive mix visually.
The importance of details for a warm decor
Taking advantage of the large windows in the apartment, a large and curved corner sofa with a silky texture was chosen to make it one of the favorite corners of the family.
The lounge area is complemented by a custom-made round leather pouf that serves as a coffee table and footrest if desired, a warm designer rug and a small side table on one side.
The selection of materials and accessories chosen for the living room of this decoration project for modern apartment in Esplugues de Llobregat is an example of how the coherence between the two is key to a perfect and well decorated living room.
Unique furniture and design for the dining room
To maintain the open and diaphanous design of the main area of this decoration for modern apartment different scenes or environments were created within the same space.
In the center of the space, as an intersection between the open kitchen and the living room, we placed an elegant dining area of large capacity.
Custom furniture for a kitchen open to dining room and living room
The dining area had to have space for eight diners as required by the property, as well as an aesthetic that will be integrated with the living room and the kitchen island with bar.
For this reason, a large rectangular table was designed with a smoked glass top with curved edges supported on two Carlo legs – Molins’ own design – that make it another of the most characteristic pieces of the project.
A set of Sancal chairs with legs varnished to match the wood of the library and seats upholstered in dark gray, along with the two wonderful lamps in gold finish by Tom Dixon finish dressing this elegant space.
An example of how to design a living room with an open kitchen
The house was delivered with a kitchen proposal in the form of a peninsula that did not convince the clients, so it was transformed into a functional kitchen island with bar.
Since the kitchen is open to dining room and living room it had to be fully integrated in a coherent way with the visual space.
In the front area of the kitchen provided by the construction company, a paneled door was created for the refrigerator to match the existing kitchen furniture, and the water and cooking zone elements were incorporated.
As a cooking system, the clients wanted to opt for an invisible induction surface, so the Cooking 3.0 cooking model in White Lux porcelain from Abkstone was chosen.
House Tour Finestrelles Apartment
Welcome to the House Tour of Finestrelles Apartment.
We show you this interior design and decoration project for a modern apartment in Esplugues de Llobregat, next to Barcelona.
An interior design and decoration project in which we have transformed a totally cold and empty house into a modern family home adapted to the needs of the owners.
A modern office with a warm decor atmosphere
Nowadays, one of the most important requirements of a home is to have a space to work. Seeing that, the property asks to allocate an office area, where to work and have a storage area to store items and books.
Custom-made furniture for a work office
An office composed of a suspended desk and a bookcase with backlit shelves and a set of cabinets with large storage capacity. The custom-made furniture is made to match the library in the living room, combining stained oak wood and brass vertical shelves with a green stained back.
A combination of custom furniture and warm decor that, together with the sophisticated suspended lamp Guise of Vibia, transmit to this space, a warm and cozy atmosphere and a relaxed sensation ideal for working.
A minimalist suite, but with a lot of personality
The master bedroom of this modern apartment in Barcelona has a very minimalist and warm aesthetic with a simple layout and clean lines.
The double bed is framed by a headboard made to measure at half height made with vertical panels upholstered in delicate velvet in beige tone to match the upholstery of the bed frame.
Beige is the neutral tone that plays as the base color, which is why it is also present in the custom-made rug that covers the entire sleeping area and the sheers with waves made in Trevira by Creation Baumann.
The touch of color that characterizes the master suite is provided by the cushions and the blanket at the foot of the bed made of an elegant, printed velvet in shades of beige and brown.
To match the bedding, the set of bedside tables model Defense – Molins’ own design – were designed in the same brown tone. The bed area is completed with two suspended lamps in gold tone by Aromas.
Space-optimized children's bedroom
Right next door, the children’s bedroom for the little ones of the house is located. A cheerful and fun bedroom in which highlights the wallpaper that covers the walls with children’s theme of Pierre Frey.
The piece of furniture that characterizes this children’s bedroom is the bed structure as an L-shaped bunk bed made of melamine in sand and coral tones that becomes a very special resting place for the children of the house.
The versatile bed structure also hides a large closet with lighting inside that becomes the ideal place to store all the kids’ toys. A ladder to access the bed on the upper floor and an integrated shelf in coral tones complete all the features of this bed structure custom-designed for the bedroom.
As complementary light points to the technical lighting, a set of Ovo wall lights by Faro in white have been incorporated on the sides of both beds, in addition to the fun table lamps of Seletti mice.
A terrace with high views
The house has a fantastic terrace of large dimensions that serves the entire day area and from which, thanks to the height at which the property is located, there are views of the entire city and the sea.
Taking advantage of the square meters of the terrace and the fact of having an outdoor area in an urban apartment, a requirement in high demand, the clients wanted to incorporate outdoor furniture to create a cozy outdoor area to enjoy.
The terrace has a solarium area with Point’s renowned Jazz sun loungers, as well as a chill out area with armchairs and a dining area equipped with comfortable Kettal outdoor furniture.
