Otto House
In this complete decorative project with swimming pool in Tona, we have intervened both at a decorative level inside the house and in the pool area located in the large backyard of this beautiful country house located in the town of Tona, Barcelona.
On the one hand, it was necessary to develop an architectural and landscaping project to execute the pool renovation and remodeling the entire backyard area that needed both technical and aesthetic conditioning.
On the other hand, we perform an interesting decorative project in the main interior area of this country house, playing with a careful combination of classic style and modern house interior design.
Decorative Project with swimming pool in Tona
When we commissioned this project, we found ourselves in the context of a swimming pool built approximately 30 years ago with many technical issues to resolve. We had to renovate the entire pool area, updating it at a technical and aesthetic level to turn it into a more modern and up-to-date pool.
At briefing level, in addition to the pool renovation, the property was clear that they wanted to enjoy a completely open and generous outdoor space, without spatial barriers in which to celebrate parties and gatherings with family and friends.
Two important factors had to be considered. Firstly, the pool area is located at a higher level than the rest of the garden, so there was an architectural barrier to be resolved at the level of the perimeter fence.
Another important aspect to solve in this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona was that, in the left area of the pool, there was not enough space or margin to be able to walk around the perimeter of the pool.
For the structure of the new pool, instead of expanding the pool, we chose to make a new one by guniting and reducing its size to make all new facilities completely.
Also, in this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona, we incorporated a pool valet in-floor cleaning system, as well as a saline chlorination system. In addition, a set of pool ladder steps were designed to allows to transact between the outside and the inside of the pool, while also offers the possibility of sitting on the pool ladder.
A large terrace area of these characteristics needs a large water drainage system, especially on rainy days. That is why, it must have a well worked and conditioned slope so that the water drains perfectly.
For this function, a system of hidden guides has been chosen with a very subtle and fine cut on the pavement, as well as they are very easy to use and clean lids. Very attractive solutions at the level of finishes and very efficient at the technical level.

One of the elements also important when we define the entire area and the pool renovation, was the choice of porcelain for both the pavement and the cladding. In this case, we opted for a Bera&Beren porcelain that met different requirements.
On the one hand, it is a material that, aesthetically, by its tonality, fits us at an aesthetic level and, on the other hand, at a technical level, being a non-slip material, it allowed to use it both outside and inside the pool, providing visual harmony throughout the space.
A differential element of this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona is the wall created with ceramic pieces of the model “Celosia” designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Italian brand Mutina.
Behind this wall, are located the stairs that give access to the room with all the machinery of the pool, a toilet, and a dressing room. This set of ceramic pieces as a wall generates an interesting screen effect, becoming a background frame to not see the staircase and this transition.
A very interesting aesthetic element also at the level of lighting, because it is backlit from the back, creating a kind of magic light box, very interesting shadows during the night

One of the key issues in this backyard pool remodel are precisely the large L-shaped garden planters that arise from the horizontal wall that separates the two dimensions of the backyard. A very useful element that solves different important aspects.
These decorative garden planters solve the difference in height between the pool and the rest of the backyard, exercise perimeter fence, dividing element and make us protective against the difference in heights. At the same time, they are very comfortable as a bench to sit on.
Finally, they solve a theme of landscaping and aesthetics, that is, they fill us with a vegetable volume with which we also have a differentiation at a visual level, that is, that delimits us all the new space.
To dress the area of the pool, we chose to make a match between the brands of outdoor furniture of reference: Kettal y Point. Thanks to a careful coherency at chromatic level, it has been achieved an aesthetically very attractive result that endows color and personality at all the backyard near to the pool of this project.

Another very important aspect in this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona has been the choice of outdoor furniture. This is essential when providing ergonomics and comfort, especially to enjoy during the summer months of this space.
In the solarium area, to enjoy the sun hours at the edge of the pool, we arranged Point loungers in red tone, a large-format parasol, and a pouf as a coffee table of Kettal.
In this pool remodeling, we have designed a whole set of both direct lights, indirect and some of very punctual so that this spectacular pool area shines with its own light and that you can also enjoy at night.
For example, we have applied spotlights for plant elements and highlighting elements such as the water source. It is also very important the pool light, so the choice of the pool lightning with LED pool lights was determinant.
It should be noted the indirect and suggestive light of the wall that makes the transition between the pool area and the rest of the garden. As well as the large access staircase, which has led lighting on all the steps, with a double functionality, both aesthetic and signage level.
Join us in this House Tour where we explain all the details of this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona. An intervention where we renovate an old swimming pool and remodel a new backyard area in a stylish country house.
The living room is the jewel of the main area of this decorative project with swimming pool in Tona. A living room decorated with art and full of details with an exquisite combination of very classic elements typical of this kind of house and current trends elements of modern house interior design such as sinuous shapes and curved lines.

This modern contemporary living room also has a reading area by the window.
A reading area in which we have also played with color, upholstering again two fabulous Louis XVI armchairs with vibrant purple fabric and a modern side table, performing one of the most special corners of the room.
A country and modern dining room. In the dining area of this townhouse with both art and decoration, you can appreciate a classic style mixed with a modern house interior design, without being recharged thanks to the proportion and distribution of the set, both furniture and decorative elements.
In this room, we have made a small update of the area, designing a new dining table with rounded edges, tailor made in oak veneering with crossed veins and L-shaped legs.
To accompany it, we chose to upholster a whole set of chairs of the property with a beautiful, printed fabric, to which we have added an extra touch of sophistication with studs on the backrest.
A courtesy bathroom or toilet can be one of the rooms in which to give free rein to the imagination in terms of design. This project is a clear example of this.
In this toilet, contrasts are the key. The softness of the neutral color of the textured wallpaper lining the walls is the perfect canvas for contrasting two of the highlights of this bathroom: the bespoke base-shaped basin with Neolith porcelain and the bold Karman dark grey ceramic lamp.
To continue with the disruptive line of this toilet, we decided to add two more very particular details too: a set of taps embedded in the backlit vertical mirror, and a hanging soap dish in black lacquered iron made by our team.
