Valira Penthouse

On the upper floor one of the main lounges is located, where we are welcomed by a piano that leads to a living area, following the aesthetics of sinuous lines with a large round corner sofa and two armchairs that close the space, from the firm Eichholtz. Both the KP rug and the coffee tables follow the aesthetic concept of curved and rounded lines. The living room’s wall has been given a relevant importance through an iron sculpture placed on a silk covering.
On one side of the living room there is a large bookcase, designed by our team, which also serves as a container for the TV and the fireplace. This library is placed on a limestone shelf and the sliding doors allow to close the television area. The entire living room is shaped with a total focus on the fantastic views to the valley.
On this occasion we bring you a very special project because it is located outside the country. We intervened to carry out the interior design andtotal refurbishment of a 260m2 duplex penthouse in Andorra, with a 20m2 terrace and privileged views over the valley. Designed to receive friends and host a couple of adults without children.
The owners contacted us to carry out the redistribution of the original spaces, to make them diaphanous, including a living room and an office on the second floor, as well as to redesign a kitchen connected to the dining room and to update the general aesthetics of the house.
We find a generous entrance that acts as a passage area, as well as access to the upper floor, where we wanted to create a harmonious space with sinuous lines.
Originally, it was a space that did not have much light, so taking advantage of the two windows it had, we designed a set of Barrisol stretch ceilings that create false windows and provide a sense of continuous light throughout the area.

Since this is a transit access, we wanted to give it a certain peculiarity through organic and round shapes to make it more pleasant. Therefore, we designed the wall with curved windows and backlit at the top, as well as a round perimeter molding that is aligned with the furniture and the rug.
This rug features a pattern designed specifically for this area with different shades of wool in earth tones that completes the feeling of comfort. The staircase has also been designed with steps in curved finishes that, together with the mirror on the installed side, complement this sinuous atmosphere.
The dining room was a space in which we found ourselves with the handicap of not having access to enough light, so we decided to create a set of coatings based on mirrors that cause us the feeling of duplicity of space and were also backlit, creating an atmosphere of magical lighting.
The dining room is presided by a large oval table in solid wood with different changes in grain, designed by Molins Design, which is dressed by brushed-gold metal-structure ergonomic chairs and the oval Cotlin rug that delimits this furniture.
The large suspended lamp from the table is a very important piece, as it gives character to the whole dining room.
This design by firm CTO Lightning is made with a brushed gold metal structure in conjunction with the chairs, and from it hang a series of crystal “tears”, which give, along with the mirrors, the feeling of being in a unique and enveloping space.
The office we designed for this interior design project and complete renovation of a duplex penthouse in Andorra, has a desk in oak veneer supported on furniture under shelves and legs custom-made by our interior design studio.
The bookcase and cabinets that provide storage capacity to the space and to the house are also designed by Molins Design.
The armchairs are by Andrew World and the table lamp is by Aromas.

The suite is accessed through a dressing room in whose right-hand side we find the whole set of cabinets designed by Molins Design and on the left we discover an isle with transparent cabinets on both sides with shoe rack and storage function for accessories, also designed by our team of interior designers.
The isle also has a transparent surface for placing small accessories such as handbags or jewelry and have them in sight. This area has a perimeter lighting throughout the ceiling, creating that feeling of continuous light in the closet. The spectacular upholstered headboard and the backlit mirrors that flank it are an exclusive design by Molins Design, for this fabulous project.
