Vesmu Duplex
This duplex penthouse’s terrace in Barcelona, and initial part of the project, needed to be radically transformed from being a passing-by point to a key place of use and enjoyment.
Therefore, in this duplex penthouse with terrace we made a complete renovation, in order to adapt the space for comfort and convenience. We achieved this thanks to the thoughtful furniture placing and the cozy effect of the pergola.
In this design we propose the creation of three distinct areas: a chill out zone, equipped with a spectacular round day bed from Dedon, a living space, consisting of a corner sofa and chaise longue from the same firm and side tables from Kettal, and an outdoor dining corner.
In Molins Design today we present a total renovation of a very special duplex penthouse in Barcelona. Vesmu becomes an exclusive interior design for luxury penthouses. A magnificent duplex located in the heart of Pedralbes, in which every squared meter is optimized to the maximum and incorporated into the approved script for the interior design of the whole house.
This interior design project was initially born for the intervention of its outdoor terrace, although finally the proposal ended up becoming a complete refurbishment of the house. Both interior and exterior spaces were redesigned based on the use of space and natural light, as well as taking the house’s Barcelona views into account.

Inside this house we find a spacious living room whose architectural setbacks were converted in part of its essence.
The three columns that divide the dining area and the central table of the living room are an example of this, given we used these pillars as a partition screen, on which we applied grayish lacobel, a material that generates reflections and provides transparency to the room.
For the back of the sofa we designed a large bookcase in angle and open distribution, lacquered in two matte-finished tones.
In the central pillar we projected a piece of furniture composed of melamine interior with a recessed television on one side, and an illuminated niche with hinged doors on the dining area side.
The corner sofa is a custom-made design by our team of professionals with fabric by Güell Lamadrid and the armchairs, designed by Molins, are upholstered with Dedar fabric.
On the Carrara marble parapet covering the water and stove area we added some original design wall lights, in the shape of inverted coffee cups with a spoon, by firm Ingo Maurer, as a surprising detail, full of personality and style.
As for the appliances, the natural gas and induction hobs are from Gaggenau, the dishwasher, the fridge and freezers and the multifunction oven are from Smeg, whilst the microwave is from Siemens and the extractor hood is a Pando design.
In the night section, the three rooms of this house are suites. All of them are bright, with many reflections and following a minimalist style.
The master suite has a spectacular fully integrated dressing area and a bathroom.
Both the closets and the isle-cabinet with drawers and glass trays as a display are an exclusive design of our team of professionals. On top of this unique piece we added a ceiling lamp by Terzani.
The hanging lamps over the bedside tables are the Mirror Ball Suspension model in glossy chrome finish by Tom Dixon and the carpet that covers the entire surface is by Cumelles.
In the bedrooms’ respective bathrooms of this Barcelona duplex penthouse, the changes in textures applied on the walls stand out, as pieces that provide volume and break with the uniformity of the rest of the proposed plain elements.
The vanity unit and the mirror that forms a ‘U’-shape, are elements which have been designed by our team. The countertop and the sink are from Krion and the mixer tap is a Roca design.
Multiple mirrors
The exceptional mirror solution, installed in a ‘U’ shape, on the front and sides of the vanity unit, allows us to enjoy greater amplitude and luminosity in the bathroom, as a perfectly studied and executed resource for this purpose.

One of the owner’s daugghter’s en suite bedroom has a spectacular bathroom, fully integrated into the room.
To design this open space we replaced a partition wall with an isle furniture, with drawers on the side of the bed and as an under sink on the bathroom side, designed exclusively by our team of professionals.
The bed headboard is an own design, upholstered with James Malone fabric, the rug is from Cumelles and the bedside lamps are the Icono wall lamp and Icono floor lamp from Vibia.
As for the textiles that dress the bed and the window, we opted for a Carlucci fabric for the net curtains and Osborne & Little for the floral decorative cushions.
