Yera House
The “open space” concept guided us to open up the day area in an initial intervention, so that we could work more freely, as if it were a blank canvas. It was then that we planned a new interior architecture for the kitchen, dining room, living room and office. The feeling of spatial amplitude was achieved not only thanks to the new layout, but also to the colour scheme and design of the furnishings. Thus, we used a related-colour palette to unite each and every one of the spaces into one, using elegant and sophisticated shades such as creams and black.
For this large living room we designed a corner sofa, upholstered with Pepe Peñalver fabric, armchairs with Andrew Martin fabric and a set of coffee tables made in black oak and glass top.
The library unit that houses the television and the gas fireplace is our team’s own design, in which we combined lacquered fronts with oak side modules.
Are you familiar with the best tricks to illuminate a dark house? This was the main objective in the renovation for this new interior architecture in Yera Apartment, located in the Eixample district of Barcelona.
In this project, our team at Molins Design worked to transform a dark ground floor into a total source of light and clarity.
There are many reasons that made this refurbishment a ground-breaking project. But undoubtedly, the great challenge in this new architectural and interior design proposal consisted in eliminating all the pre-existing partition walls. The design of spaces that we found was separated by columns and walls that impeded natural light entry into the house.

The lighting design was essential for this complete renovation in Barcelona. In fact, by opening up the spaces that were originally separate, we were able to gain natural light throughout the entire surface.
However, we had to combine a system of LED lights throughout all rooms to ensure that brightness reached each and every corner of the house.
The spotlights are combined with some design lamps in the living room and kitchen. A totally asymmetrical play of light brings clarity and a feeling of comfort to each of the spaces.
The office area, located behind the sofa, is an exclusive design by our studio in varnished oak to match with the parquet flooring.
Next we find the dining area, which is separated from the kitchen by a wall that has a double function: on the side of the table, as a bench, and on the side of the kitchen, as a support element for the large isle.
The oak dining table, in a square format, is a design by our team of professionals, and the chairs are Niza models upholstered with Olivenza fabric.
Elegance reigns supremely in the layout of this home.
Everything belongs to its right place and function, helping to create a discreet and serene atmosphere, both in the day and night areas, as we can see in the master bedroom.
For this space we designed a Carlucci upholstered headboard and a matching steel-legged stool, alongside a set of bedside tables in black lacquered oak.
The side cabinets in white lacquered MDF with doors, finger-kind pulls and module for the television plus the isle with drawers in black lacquered oak are also exclusive designs by Molins.
The children’s bedroom has its own bathroom separated by a partition with a glazed top.
For this room we custom-designed a set in varnished oak, consisting of a white lacquered wardrobe, a wall unit with drawers and a shelf.
On the other hand, for the children’s bathroom we created an oak vanity unit to match the bedroom furniture, with white Silestone porcelain worktop and mixer tap by Ramon Soler.
