Torrent House
The exterior of this house located in the wonderful region of Baix Empordà has different areas to enjoy an incomparable environment. Without a doubt, the swimming pool, of elongated proportions, is one of the main features. But, what is really remarkable is that we are talking about a house with a wine cellar of impressive dimensions. Do you want to discover it?
Interior design Empordà: house renovation with a rustic wine cellar
Located in Girona, Casa Torrent has become an elegant and unique house with a wine cellar. One of our most spectacular renovation proposals, as far as interior design in the Empordà is concerned.
Firstly, to carry out this new interior design and interior design project in the Empordà, the emphasis was placed on opening up spaces. In fact, if there is one thing this house with swimming pool in the Baix Empordà enjoys, it is plenty of space. It also retains a markedly rustic air in each of its rooms.
The first floor of this detached house houses the day area. Indeed, this space is linked to its outdoor garden. Likewise, on the upper level, there is a diaphanous suite where the jacuzzi and the bed come together to form a spectacular rest area.
A custom-made pool
Our studio is also capable of designing precious pools, proven in this spectacular project.
In this case, the chosen interior coating in grey tiles ideally combines with the multicolour flooring porcelain assembled for the pool’s perimeter and chill out area.
One of the most important premises we received to carry out this interior design project was to open up the rooms of the home and thus make the most of the available space.
For this reason, the interior design of Casa Torrent has a spectacular dining room and living room open to both the outdoor area and the kitchen. Of course, this main room has a wonderful lounge furniture with a fireplace and a large sofa, suitable for relaxing for hours on end.
Decorative versatility
For a space to be well organised and tidy we use decorative functional resources, via sliding doors containing backlit shelves in ther inside.
This way, the path between areas is either visually more fluid and serene when these shelves are hidden, or more personal and decorative when the sliding door is open.
The dining area is placed in a strategic location. We placed it in one of the main corners of the day area. In this area, natural light is one of the main protagonists, between the living room and the kitchen.
To create this space we designed a large square table in solid oak with 4 legs and an interior iron structure. Then, we added upholstered chairs on two of its sides. On the other two we placed original benches, also upholstered with Carlucci fabric, instead of the traditional chairs.
In this way, we managed to project a more comfortable and social space. Undoubtedly, square tables have the great advantage of facilitating interaction between the diners who occupy them.
Comfort and style in the dining room
Courtesy bathroom
For the main floor’s courtesy bathroom we design a varnished oak top, on top of which a white round stone stack is incorporated, alongside a Dornbracht wall-mounted faucet.
The mirros, manufactured in whitish branches, adds decorative detail to a functional and charming space.
In this home’s upper level we solely find this fabulous and complete suite, made up of a bedroom with an open bathroom, a wide walk-in closet and a private terrace from which to enjoy the wonderful views the environment offers.
The headborad element, with lateral niches built in varnished oak wood and designed by our team, acts as a separating piece between bed and bathroom, supporting a Systempool Norway hydromassage bathtub by Porcelanosa.
Right in front of it and below the window that brings light into the space we place the double washbasin cabinet, designed by Molins, on top of which two natural stone stacks with their respective mirrors, mounted either side of both washbasins.
Exclusivity in a house with a wine cellar
To create a house with a private wine cellar it is necessary to have special conditions for the wines to age properly.
It is essential to place the wine cellar in a cool space, which does not exceed 20ºC and a humidity of between 75 and 85% so that the wines do not spoil. An excessively dry environment can cause the wines to mature too quickly and inappropriately, while too much humidity can cause the corks of the bottles to become mouldy, which can create problems if the wine leaks through the cork.
