Marno Penthouse
In the living room of this Barcelona flat, a space that communicates directly with the outside, we took advantage of its unevenness to separate rooms and hide some elements. This is the case, for example, of the television. This is integrated under the stairs that lead to the terrace. On the other hand, we made a clear commitment to the built-in fireplace as an element that combines utility and elegance. Likewise, in this living-dining room decoration we found it convenient to create a vertical piece of furniture reinforced by a long staircase, which also subtly joins levels and spaces.
To create a really comfortable space, we chose a corner sofa and a complete coffee table in matt lacquered MDF. Elements combined with pieces of varnished and stained wood, with two mitred drawers, one on each side, made to measure by Molins Design.
Functionality, elegance and comfort. These are the three characteristics that define the interior architecture of this home with built-in fireplace in Barcelona. Undoubtedly, an interior design and decoration project with the aim of giving light and personality to penthouses with terraces as spectacular as this home.
Once upon a time a home was attached to a terrace. That is the best definition we can find for the interior design of this flat located in Plaza Lesseps. We are talking about a flat that, in addition to having a custom-made fireplace, also has a large terrace. In this case, the outdoor space is a major feature and also determines the interior layout of the home.
In fact, this house is located in an area where the topography of Barcelona is beginning to uneven and, therefore, its distribution is organised around it.
We began the refurbishment by giving the living and dining room area the importance it deserves, also considered by the client as the real nerve centre of the house. On this basis, our objective was to convert this room into the brightest, warmest and most comfortable space in the home. To achieve this, we took advantage of all the light inlets in the house, as well as one of the columns in the living room to place a splendid fireplace.
Interior design projects with fireplaces are one of our great passions and we like to entertain ourselves with their design.
There are many homes that radically renew their appearance thanks to a modern, innovative and functional built-in fireplace. This element will also help us to make the most of every element of the dining room, but also as the main source of heat in the home.
Next to the living area is the bright dining room for which we chose a table with a Corten steel structure and legs and a top in brushed oak veneer, varnished and stained by the Italian firm Bonaldo, and the Softshell Chair by Vitra, upholstered by Molins Design with fabric by Güell Lamadrid.
The matt lacquered MDF tableware cabinet with doors is a bespoke design by our team of professionals. The suspended lamps are the Gong S3 model in metallic copper mirror finish by Prandina.
Entrance hall is an important area in the integral reform project of this house. That is why we designed the integrated fireplace, taking advantage of the pillar and the console suspended in oak veneer, as a subtle and elegant piece that fulfils its functions to perfection.
In addition to the built-in fireplace area, our interior design team placed special emphasis on the master bedroom of the flat. For the renovation of this room we played with simplicity and symmetry. In addition, we sought to ensure that both the furniture and the lighting used blended perfectly with the rest of the decorations in the home. Likewise, as much advantage as possible was taken of the entry of natural light through the main window of the bedroom.
The upholstered headboard, the bedside tables and the large wardrobe in front of the bed match the lacquered lacobel doors and drawers. As well as with the television, which is custom-fitted. All these elements are undoubtedly exclusive designs by Molins Design.
The suite has one of the simplest and most practical bathrooms in the house. The installation of mirrors offered a playful feeling of an increase in space sensation. Likewise, the colour range used in the room was in whites, with the occasional mosaic in the central tiles of the room.
The wall-mounted bathroom unit with three matt white lacquered drawers and a marble-lined marine board worktop is a design by Molins Design, while the washbasins are by Alape and the taps by Dornbracht.
The matt tempered glass partitions in the toilet area and transparent tempered glass in the shower area are also a design by our team of interior designers.
In one of the bathrooms shared by the two young daughters of the house, we wanted to play intentionally with mirrors. We placed two circular models facing each other, designed by our team, achieving an infinite optical effect. This same technique was used in the rest of the bathrooms in the house, to maintain the same style.
The bathroom furniture with suspended drawers finished in matt lacquer and the mixer taps are by Inbani.
