Diagonal Mar Apartment
In this case, this interior design and full renovation project in Barcelona was born from a young couple who had just acquired the home of their dreams: a seafront flat in a privileged location that needed to be adapted to their lifestyle and functional needs.
After the intervention, the home has been transformed into an open, warm and deeply connected space facing the sea. A home where design and functionality coexist in perfect harmony.
Interior Design Project in Diagonal Mar
In recent years, Barcelona’s Diagonal Mar district has become one of the city’s most modern and exclusive residential areas.
Its proximity to the sea, expansive green spaces and contemporary architecture make it an ideal environment for those seeking an urban Mediterranean lifestyle.
In this context, a newly built residential building houses this interior design project in Diagonal Mar: the complete transformation of a 130 m² seafront flat with Mediterranean views.
However, the original layout was conventional, so it was redesigned to create a more open, functional space infused with natural light.

Interior Layout: Continuity, Light and Functionality
The distribution of this modern flat in Diagonal Mar includes a spacious day area, two double bedrooms —one of them an en-suite— a custom-made dressing room and a generous home office.
A perimeter terrace surrounds the entire floor, enhancing the dialogue with the outdoors and reinforcing the sense of openness.
Large sliding doors frame Mediterranean light and sea views, gently dissolving the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.
In this seafront interior design project in Barcelona, the entrance integrates a console, bar cabinet and pantry in a single bespoke composition, offering order, discretion and refined craftsmanship.

A Unique and Contemporary Interior Design Concept
At the core of this project is a peninsula kitchen, conceived to organize flows and add character to the space.
The cooking area —featuring invisible induction technology— is positioned on the peninsula, while the washing area is discreetly concealed to maintain a clean visual aesthetic.
The living-dining area is designed as a fluid, bright and open space, where the connection with Mediterranean views becomes a defining feature.
This open-plan layout creates two seamlessly connected ambiences without visual barriers, resulting in a generous and welcoming social area.

A Warm and Tailored Living Room
The dining area sits closest to the façade, capitalizing on natural light and uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, which act as a shifting backdrop throughout the day.
This privileged position turns the dining table into a natural gathering point, enriched by the presence of coastal light.
One of the standout elements is the bespoke rear library, located behind the sofa. In addition to its structural function, it incorporates illuminated niches for artworks and large-format books, adding visual depth and character to the room.

Materiality and Atmosphere: A Warm and Timeless Palette
This interior design project in Diagonal Mar is built around a warm and timeless palette, where oak wood panelling and soft-toned lacquered surfaces take centre stage.
Indirect lighting wraps these materials with calmness and highlights their natural texture.
Open and Connected Spaces
The living room, slightly set back, offers a calm and comfortable atmosphere ideal for socializing and unwinding. Carefully selected furniture pieces and neutral-toned upholstery harmonize with the oak panelling and lacquered finishes that unify the entire project.
The bespoke library behind the sofa, with its illuminated niches and sculptural volumes, adds functionality and character, acting as an architectural element that organizes the layout without losing visual lightness.
Altogether, the living-dining area becomes an open space overlooking the sea, where aesthetics, comfort and outdoor connection coexist in perfect balance.

Textures and Volumes for an Integrated Kitchen
Oak wood panelling blends seamlessly into the bespoke furniture, while the porcelain countertop by Abkstone —featuring hidden induction technology— creates a sleek, continuous and modern surface.
The washing area remains strategically hidden to preserve visual clarity. Meanwhile, a carefully planned lighting scheme enhances textures and volumes, giving the kitchen a warm and sophisticated presence.
