Mansan House
The house has four floors divided in a basement, a first floor and two upper floors.
On the first and second floors are the bedrooms, while on the ground floor holds the daily use areas; dining room, kitchen and living room.
In the basement we find a spa area and a large garage. Undoubtedly, a very complete home that required substantial modifications to achieve perfection.
For the full renovation project of this house, located just 8 kilometres away from the city of Barcelona, we carried out a total intervention, with an extremely sophisticated interior design and decoration.
The owners were looking for a complete renovation that would allow them to expand the useful meters of their home, increasing the efficiency and style of each room.
Therefore, during the planning phase, various changes were made to improve the functionality of the space, without forgetting the decoration and the house aesthetics’ coherence.
These modifications involved comprehensive reforms in the house’s both exterior and interior. In fact, the Molins team intervention in Mansan House was based on an extension of the useful meters and the contribution of more practical solutions.
The outdoor area of this house is perfect for enjoying great moments in the company of family and friends, both in the outdoor lounge and in the swimming pool.
On the outside, we replaced the original entrance and swimming pool cladding with industrial stoneware from Florim, and for the porch area we installed an encapsulated decking in charcoal grey. We also changed the interior lining of the swimming pool for a new mesh tile.
For this outdoor lounge we chose furniture and accessories from specialist outdoor furniture company Kettal, creating a very comfortable and welcoming space.
The staircase modification was one of the main interventions our interior design studio developed.
We designed a bespoke and completely customized new staircase in dark wood and railing with curved bars and iron forging, which provides an aesthetic of sinuous curves and an improved verticality.
One of the most important modifications that we developed for this complete renovation project was carried out on the main floor.
In this case, we decided to incorporate meters of the porch to create a bright office, which is separated from the rest of the living room and dining room thanks to the installation of sliding tinted-glass doors, designed and made by our team of interior designers. A separating element that exudes elegance and perfectly separates the two rooms.
A functional and aesthetic office
To create this space we designed a desk in American oak veneer with a matt black lacquered metal leg and a matt black lacquered metal bookcase with shelves in American oak wood and a base unit with two doors.
The armchair is a design by Crearte upholstered by Molins Design with fabric by Güell Lamadrid and the armchair is a model by Andrew World.
To complete the space we chose the Beat Floor lamp in black finish by Tom Dixon, a piece that, with its design language of straight, clear and at the same time independent lines, and its high quality finish, adds style and contemporaneity to the space.

For the dining room we custom designed a large table with a central leg in varnished and stained American oak, to which we added the Break chairs upholstered in Althea fabric by Bross, on top of a large rug by KP. Next to the wall, we installed a console table in stained and varnished American oak, also made by our team of interior designers.
The spectacular lamps above the dining table are the Glamour model, a design by Dodo Arsian for the Italian lighting company Terzani. The diffused light emanating from these unique pieces behind the rings bathes the surrounding area in a soft, sensual glow.
In the kitchen, the owners wanted to achieve a clean and functional room.
Therefore, the team decided to reduce and arrange the elements to obtain a more walkable space. The great attraction of the room is the isle, which combines with a large side cabinet.
We replaced the original kitchen floor with Inalco porcelain tiles and chose the isle’s worktop in a bush-hammered grey finish from the same company, to create a very flattering visual effect.
On the ground floor, we also designed a courtesy toilet, where the wallpaper, used as an original metallic coating by Osborne & Little, stands out.
The wall-hung vanity unit with varnished and stained drawer is a design by our team, on which we installed a countertop basin by Scarabeo and a mixer tap by Ritmonio.
Both the toilet roll holder and the vertical towel rail were purchased from Decor Walther.

On the first floor, we discover the spectacular suite with dressing room and integrated bathroom, a room that occupies a large part of the floor. The headboard wall is a perimeter piece with panels upholstered by our interior design studio with fabric from Designers Guild, to which we added a MDF headboard upholstered with Dedar fabric.
The niched bedside tables are also a design by Molins Design, to which we added two large table lamps by Guaxs. The chromatic range chosen to design this space is based on white and beige tones to which we added touches of grey to create an elegant and sophisticated play of contrasts.
Between the bedroom and the bathroom we find the complete dressing room in the master suite, whose wardrobes have been custom-designed in Egger melamine inside and lacquered MDF outside, in white and grey, with backlit niches.
We chose this chromatic range for this dressing room, different to that of the large shoe cabinet, to provide continuity with respect to the bathroom located next to it.
We played with the contrasting white with beige tones and the graphic veining of the large porcelain tiles, as the model chosen for the coatings and floors, by the firm Florim.
A large cabinet with vanity and two custom-made sinks by our cabinetmakers puts the icing on this space.
A strategic set of mirrors placed on key points further enhances the feeling of space in this polished bathroom.

The bathroom consists of a diaphanous shower space with transparent glass bulkhead and a custom-made Kaldewei bathtub in pearl white finish.
We placed the bathtub on a platform made by our team in solid pine and marine board with white corian and LED lights. Something that becomes the jewel of the bathroom and an authentic oasis of wellness.

The bathroom of the suite of this interior design project in Barcelona was designed as a wellness and disconnection space. Taking advantage of the possibility of generous square meters of housing, this spacious bathroom was created in the purest style luxury hotel suite.
Integrated in the furniture under bathroom sink we designed a vanity area to which we add a stool upholstered by Molins Design with fabric by Pierre Frey.

On the same floor where we find the master suite we also discover the bedroom of one of the owners’ daughters.
For this bedroom we chose the color lilac to dress the bed and to cover the headboard with fabric of Jab Anstoetz. In addition to making a head at medium height, made with brushed and lacquered oak veneer. On one side of the bed there is a suspended bedside table with two drawers in lacquered oak veneer. All designed by our team.
On the other side of the bed we add a free bedside table and place a suspended lamp from Secto Design.
Already on the second floor we find two more bedrooms, for the other daughters of the owners.
The two rooms are very spacious and have their own dressing room, study or dressing area and private bathroom.
This first bedroom has a spectacular custom made dressing room with backlit display niches. For the room we designed an upholstered headboard and a bedside table also made to measure by Molins Design.
We designed a vanity cabinet in lacquered DM with a tempered lacobel top with drawer modules and flattened with mirror and added a stool with Infiniti Design back, to provide more comfort to the area.
The textiles chosen to create this bedroom are really relevant, as they add the touch of color and personality to the room. In this case, the high quality fabrics of Pierre Frey and Jab Anstoetz are chosen to design the cushions that dress the bed.
The private bathroom corresponding to this bedroom is original and surprising.
Instead of the traditional cabinet under washbasin we designed an elongated and suspended bathroom cabinet with three drawers and backlit bottom. Made of varnished and dyed oak veneer on which we had an original sink on countertop in the shape of a cube by Scarabeo.
In addition, the porcelain floor chosen is the Foster model in natural stone by Inalco. While the coating is from the firm Atlas Concorde.
Finally, to illuminate the corner of the bathroom, next to the mirror, we chose one of the most known luminaires of the Marset lighting firm, the Pleat Box.
Sketch of the bathroom

As a final conclusion, this bedroom also has a study area in which we designed a desk and drawers in varnished oak veneer. With two chairs and the suspended Bon Tom lamp from Torremato, we certainly create a comfortable and very functional workspace.
We also add a sofa bed upholstered with fabric from Alhambra Fabrics and decorative cushions with fabric from Pierre Frey.
Finally, and on this same floor, we plan a complete bedroom that has a bedroom, dressing room and study area. Undoubtedly, environments located in a large space, very comfortable and cozy.
In turn, we chose the grain oak to design the front of the wardrobes of the dressing room and the head. All this, with elements lacquered in gray that are used as bedside tables, on the sides of the bed.
We also dressed the bed with a set of cushions made by Molins Design with fabrics from Romi and Alhambra Fabrics. And we add the Owalo table lamps from Secto Design, on the bedside tables.
The bathroom cabinet with melamine interior and exterior in oak veneer has a backlit bottom. In addition to a white corian countertop and backlit vertical mirror. It is a custom design by Molins Design.
For this piece, we chose the Loop & Friends floor sink and the Hansgrohe Starck Organic single-lever tap.
