Linco Apartment
This house or loft in Barcelona is a property full of magnetic areas. For the living room, the most special room in the house, we decided to place a small space as an office. We placed it under one of the large windows in the space, which brings a large dose of light to the whole room. In turn, the desk, custom-designed by our team, is made of stained oak veneer with drawer units and wheels.
For the interior design and decoration of this living area we decided to use wood and warm-coloured fabrics. Therefore, we included these tones in the furniture and textiles. Also, in some decorative design elements, such as paintings and even a leather armchair. In this case, the Butterfly Chair, an undisputed icon of contemporary design.
This interior design project consists of the integral reform of a second-hand loft flat in Barcelona.
Initially, this flat, located in the Poblenou area of Barcelona, had a layout that was not very functional and efficient. Of course, we are talking about a totally traditional architectural design, with differentiated spaces separated by rooms.
It is clear that the main objective for this loft-style design house was to make the most of dead space. In other words, we wanted to gain space in the house by eliminating unnecessary partitions and walls.
Therefore, at Molins Design we worked to create a spacious loft with all the rooms open and integrated into a single space. In this way, the 4 areas of the flat (living room, dining room, kitchen and office) make the most of the available space and natural light.
Loft design with masculine touches
Without a doubt, the design of the sofa is custom-made by Molins Design with Carlucci fabric in a sand tone. The piece contrasts with the fabric chosen for the decorative cushions, which match the poufs, made with Andrew Martin fabric.
The time has come to give this loft-style flat a masculine and distinctive touch. To achieve this, we played with the elements of the well-known “Meccano” toys. Therefore, we used them as parts of constructive elements present in the different pieces of furniture in the house. We used the original coffee table and the bookcase in the living room, designed exclusively by our team of interior designers.
Functionality and design at the kitchen
To create a certain separation between the kitchen area and the entrance hall, we designed a multifunctional module that we use as a storage unit, breakfast preparation area and storage space on the kitchen side, and as an entrance hall unit on the other side. This way we managed to make the most of the available surface area, in a more efficient and decorative way.
A modern kitchen with integrated appliances
For the kitchen area we thought of an architectural style adapted to modern loft-style kitchens. For this reason, we integrated the electrical appliances perfectly into the room, so that they were not overly obvious and aesthetically aggressive.
Likewise, we combined the wood in such a way that it provides a special play of colours with the rest of the furniture in the living room, achieving a total integration of the different atmospheres.
A bedroom-suite with all luxury details
The master bedroom of this designer loft has a dressing room and an integrated bathroom.
Likewise, the bed headboard is a design by our team, upholstered in Güell Lamadrid fabric. As well as the bedside tables, where the legs with “Meccano” type metal structures in black stand out. On top of these we placed two table lamps in white by Vibia.
