Casa Decor 2008
In line with the overall theme of the exhibition Casa Decor Barcelona 2008, we wanted to emphasize the use of elements in favor of controlled energy consumption. Therefore, in the renovation of this design loft we used different home automation lighting control systems.
We also placed energy-efficient LED lights, flow regulating faucets and other osmosis filtration systems. Likewise, to achieve better thermal insulation inside the home, we manipulate the aluminum carpentry with thermal bridge.
As for the furniture, to design this large living room we chose a corner sofa custom-made by Molins Design with Gaston & Daniela fabric, a custom-made rug by Cotlin and a coffee table in varnished oak with glass foot designed exclusively by our team of interior designers.
New interior design space Casa Decor Barcelona 2008
Our team Molins Design participates again in the 2008 edition of Casa Decor Barcelona, one of the most important interior design events in the country.
Under the slogan: ‘Sustainable Course’, this new exhibition of interior design focuses on the reform of housing in favor of the environment, quality of life and health.
Our proposal for this interior design fair in Barcelona covers the renovation of a 95m2 design loft. A very complete interior design and decoration project was carried, subdivided into more than one space.
First, we refurbished the double-height facade of the house. Then, we intervened in the apartment’s interior to create a new living room-library, dining room, kitchen and mini wine cellar.
"The spectacular double-height library that presides over the living area takes special prominence in the space."
Just through the front door we find the living room, where a spectacular double-height library, custom designed by our team of professionals, takes special prominence.
Its distribution is arrhythmic and is made of stained oak.
In this case, the new architecture carried out in this reform reflects the characteristic Molins Design style. A way of work based on functionality, elegance, attention to detail and the exquisite use of textures and materials.

Color warmth
As far as color is concerned, we wanted to enhance the light of the loft’s special location, facing the sea. To achieve this, we started by painting the walls and ceilings in off-white, thus enhancing the main wall by applying a very unique texture.
All this, combined with a set of fabrics in earth and chocolate colors of very different origins.
A chromatic palette that goes from the patent leather for the dining room chairs’ manufacturing, to the cottons and raffias for the curtains and the sofa.
The result of all this combination of elements presents a unique space, in a particularly singular enclave. Undoubtedly, a vivid reflection of the characteristic style of Molins Design.

Right in the very first plane we find the façade of the room, intentionally conceived in a rectilinear way. The objective here was to create a small garden corner at the entrance, which leads to the large pivoting door at the entrance to the space, designed and manufactured by our team of interior designers.
Finally, and at the back of the space, we developed the splendid kitchen of our own design.
We plan this environment as a central aisle, around which are the office furniture, wine cellar and container cabinets.
To create a unique space with unmistakable style we opted for a game of contrasts between black and white, through the installation of lacquered and glossy furniture, traditional white marble, steel and black oak.
As for the appliances, we installed an oven, microwave, plate warmer, refrigerator, dishwasher, gas and induction cook top, and extractor fan from Smeg, while the spectacular wine fridge is from Gaggenau and the TV from Pioneer.
As a creative detail, we designed an original urban orchard of aromatic plants installed on one of the main walls of the kitchen.
