Riam Apartment
Living area presided over by a large trapezoid-shaped sofa by the firm Edra, which allows the scene to be oriented towards different focal points, so that rather than dividing the space, it articulates it and gives it fluidity, becoming the sculptural axis through which the living room area pivots with the dining room and the office.
Sophisticated penthouse in Barcelona: Riam Apartment, a real jewel of interior design
Located in upper Barcelona, in the district of Pedralbes, this home attic floor home of a multi-family building, is presented as a spectacular refurbishment of great quality and unequalled design, in which art, functionality and sophistication come together to give shape to a luxury interior design project in Barcelona, with great aesthetic value.
The interior layout of the project is divided into three clearly differentiated spaces: the first comprises the entrance hall, living room, dining room and office. All of them are resolved in a practical joint and diaphanous way; only the work area is subtly divided, through large sliding glass doors of the Italian brand Lualdi.
The second adjoining space, the north-facing one, embraces the entire staircase and lift core and belongs to the kitchen-laundry area, which has been intentionally resolved in a participatory manner for the users. Through the central axis of a kitchen peninsula, it serves as a cooking area and a high bar.
The third space, the night area, is practically the remaining forty percent of the proposal, with the suite area taking up a large part of the distribution of metres. The master suite also opts for a brave solution defined in a single section, where bedroom, gym, dressing room and bathroom fulfil a logical sequence of events through which the script is reproduced without interference thanks to a spatial unity that enriches the whole.
“The office is one of the most used parts of the property, so we wanted it to be integrated into the whole in a harmonious and functional way”.
Living room, dining room and office occupy the same area, one of the three main zones designed by our team. Sliding glass doors have been installed to divide the three areas in a subtle and elegant way.
Inside the office we discover a suspended bookcase and a large work table, designed entirely by the Molins Design team and made of stained and varnished oak veneer.
Thanks to these pieces we were able to resolve and integrate the different technological elements required by the property.
Versatility and distributive versatility
An independent office to work from home

"In this large-scale project, the pieces of great Italian design brands stand out".
The artistic proposal is based on a confluence of styles where the interior design of sober, linear and minimalist lines converges with a commitment to sophisticated textures and materials.
Decorative references, furniture, accessories and lighting, acquired in the visual imaginary proposed by the great Italian furniture brands.
Certain reminiscences to the cinematographic style of Tom Ford’s films, with references to the look of the end of the American fifties, write the aesthetic script of a large part of the project.
Italian design at the Riam Apartment
Design lamps for the dining room
The Atollo lamp is a true design icon. Designed by architect and industrial designer Vico Magistretti in 1977, this sophisticated, sculptural table lamp is one of the best known symbols of Italian design.
The secret of the Atollo lies mainly in the geometric construction of its recognisable shapes: the cone in the cylinder and the hemisphere in the lampshade. A real light sculpture.

The entrance hall breathes Cartesian order. In fact, it is the axis of the x and y of the project. The distribution of the whole house starts from this point, both in terms of pavements, and at the level of ceilings and backlit moats.
There is a symmetry criterion applied to large glazed openings. All this through sliding doors, creating a game between full and empty.
What on one side is a glazed reflection, on the other is empty. In between, the large format porcelain serves as a basis for selected works of art. Among them stand out from more classic references, to the most contemporary. All in a beautiful intergenerational confrontation.
The works of art on display in the entrance hall, acquired from the prestigious Alzueta Gallery in Barcelona, blend in perfectly with the decorative project, the materials chosen and the layout designed by the Molins Design team.
Two contemporary art paintings and a Roman fountain of a lion’s head from the 2nd-3rd century B.C. coexist in harmony in a room with impeccable and surprising interior design.
A large custom-made pivoting door to separate the two zones

The city area where this house is located has a spongy urbanism, so there is a certain distance from the adjoining property, a fact that gives a plus of quality to the whole and provides a privileged view towards a large green area.
In this case, we also have two small terraces of 18 m2, where we have created two sitting corners, with armchairs and side tables by Paola Lenti, perfect for enjoying moments of relaxation in the open air.

"The cooking area located on the peninsula has a large work surface so that the art of cooking becomes a new experience".
In any kitchen refurbishment it is essential to pay special attention to the cooking area, one of the most important parts of this space, together with the water, storage and office areas.
In this project, the cooking area is installed on the peninsula, opposite the office, so that we managed to multiply the available work surface to enjoy a more comfortable and functional culinary experience.
A more efficient cooking system
Integrated gas burners on worktop
The chosen cooking system for this kitchen is characterized by the perfect combination of functionality and design. The traditional hob was omitted in favor of installing gas burners on the worktop.
The versatility of this cooking system allows the burners to be positioned in a customized way, so that you can enjoy sufficient space for cooking without physical impediments.

Courtesy bathroom
The day area of this luxury penthouse in Barcelona has a guest toilet whose walls are covered with brushed, stained and varnished oak veneer, custom-designed by Molins Design.
The floor-standing bathroom sink with a wooden finish and the taps with a column spout are designed by Falper.

Riam Apartment House Tour
House Tour of one our most exclusive and sophisticated projects, this fabulous large penthouse located in the upper area of Barcelona, is a jewel of interior design.
The master suite, of extremely generous proportions, brings together, without formal or aesthetic distinction and in a single area, bedroom, gym, dressing room, bathroom and shower.
Without partitions or screens, we find an open-plan space with luxurious details. In addition, its decoration combines perfectly with the contemporary and minimalist style, bringing comfort and warmth to the space.
Master suite: a true luxury of interior design
When designing the master suite, we considered that integrating rather than fragmenting was the best option for a room of these characteristics.
It is a sophisticated and precise proposal, which unashamedly combines industrialised solutions from the best Italian home furnishing firms with custom-made elements.
The result harmoniously integrates both furniture concepts, making the rigid modulations of the manufacturer seem to be custom-made.
An excellent dialogue between design and craftsmanship, which always ends up being an omen of great success in interior design.
A movie-like dressing room
The dressing room is a piece of great aesthetic value and high functionality in this interior design project.
The transparency applied to wardrobes is a response accepted by the clients, who are convinced and willing to maintain the demanding visual order they require, but which, at the same time, are highly attractive due to their disruptive approach with respect to the traditional vision of this domestic space.
The isle with 20 drawers in a lacquered finish that presides over the space is an exclusive, custom design by Molins and stands out for the installation of a display case for accessories, ties and handkerchiefs.

Hinged doors finished in glass and aluminium profile brings lightness and depth to this walk-in wardrobe from the prestigious Italian firm Molteni.
The interior design is equipped with the latest and best features so that each garment has its specific place.
In addition, it features advanced technological solutions, such as sliding mechanisms that use a system of magnetic dampers to eliminate noise during the activation phase. Thanks to this system, less force is required to open and close the door, improving the smoothness of sliding.
The complete bathroom designed in the master suite of this home meets all the expectations required by the property: a space in which everyday life and relaxation are aligned to create a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped space.
As it shares a surface area with the other rooms in the suite, such as the bedroom, dressing room and gym, we decided to use elements and materials in common with the rest of the spaces: the American oak veneered wood of the bathroom furniture designed by the Molins Design team is the main integrating component, while the surface of the worktop and the wall covering of the bathtub in onyx effect porcelain stoneware contrast with the wood, providing a unique aesthetic and functional character and singularity.
The design of a guest bedroom becomes another of the indispensable requirements of the owners of this luxury home located in the upper area of Barcelona.
To create a warm and comfortable room, the interior design team at Molins Design designed a bed headboard upholstered in a mottled gray tone as the main decorative element, accompanied by some pieces with gold details, such as the bedside tables and the suspended lamps by Flos that subtly illuminate the sides of the bed.
The spot reading lighting is generated by the placement of two wall lamps by Gira, installed above the headboard. To provide a seat in the space, a designer upholstered barefoot armchair has been added, situated next to a small cupboard with backlit shelves, a bar and four drawers in varnished and stained American oak veneer custom designed by Molins Design.
The guest bedroom has a separate bathroom, equipped with a wall-mounted bathroom sink, toilet and shower area.
