Jòdul Lab
Designed solely for field professionals, Jòdul Lab draws from classic commercial interior design in Barcelona. And, in terms of creative interior architecture, certain approaches to commercial premises construction stand out.
From Molins Design we thought of a typical commercial businesses interior design, so to plan this project we took into account two fundamental premises: use of space and creation of new functional environments.
For the facade and access to the store we designed a corporate logo made of opaque polymeric vinyl, die-cut in the corporate red color, installed on glass.
In the showcase and waiting room we made a creative implementation of stacked toilets and around them we projected some display panels for materials, coatings and floorings, marketed by the firm.
The prestigious company specialized in interior design and construction materials Jòdul lands in Barcelona with its showroom Jòdul Lab. This material’s laboratory, located in the heart of Barcelona, recreates a very innovative proposal. This project is based on commercial design and is strongly committed to concepts such as functionality and space use.
Its architecture and interior design extends over 200 square meters of custom-made work, making it an agile and versatile showroom concept. In this commercial space, the material and its particular way of displaying it is the true protagonist of the proposal.
The construction element par excellence used as an indispensable piece is a 30x30mm metal tube, which allows the development of all the display systems, as a structure, forming shelves and support panels.
This structure, extremely light and discreet, finds its support in the light gray ceramic pavement that, with its large 300x100cm format, allows us to minimize the joint sight, although it was a challenge at the time of assembly.
The porcelain work and display tables were custom-designed by our team, with melamine interior and exterior with Blum-guided drawers and finger-joint formation, elements which were attached to a tubular metal structure and decorative Allen screws.
The swivel stools with adjustable height for the work tables, with structure and seat in solid beech wood in natural finish are the Jerry The Wild Bunch model by Magis.
Functional and decorative pieces for the exhibit
In order for all the showroom’s elements to shine with their own light, we proposed a commercial design typical decoration, in which neutral colors combined with wood and 100% functional furniture were our main working elements.

Regarding the decoration of commercial businesses, it highlights a space in which the continent opts for an intentional neutrality, since what is really important in this interior and commercial design is the way in which Jòdul materials and products are exposed, both at floor level and wall coverings, as well as taps, screens, decorative accessories for the kitchen and bathroom and other pieces related to the high-end construction sector.

At the end of the space we decided to adapt workspaces, with custom-made by Molins Design furniture in natural oak wood.
The creation of these new offices brings warmth to the work area designed in the same type of solid oak wood that has been used to design the management department’s sliding partition.
Next to these tables we added swivel chairs on wheels with low mesh backrest, with arms and gas elevation with Dynamobel cushioning.
The work tables are high and, at the same time, are sample containers. In addition, they are accompanied by adjustable stools, which give it a workplace-atelier-laboratory character.
For sanitaryware and shower trays display, we designed custom-made iron shelves in tubular iron and melamine backing in an impeccable white colour, to which we added metal ladders made of solid round steel, with two wheels and finished with red primer, and original metal sample trolleys, oven-painted and with white and red bicycle-type wheels, also custom-made by our studio.
Detail-studied lighting
The lighting we designed for this commercial refurbishment project helps us to present all the spaces and products on display in such a way that the different textures and finishes can be faithfully appreciated, for a better perception of each element.

Versatility and design
The final result of the interior design project is coherent and respectful to the product on display, as well as functional and versatile.
At the same time, the Jòdul Lab showroom is a bold step forward in the design of commercial spaces in Barcelona.
