Ron House
This fabulous single-family house, located in Barcelona’s most privileged neighbourhood, exceeds a 220m2 interior area and enjoys almost 600m2 exterior space, organized in two storeys.
In its lower level we find the most comfortable spaces; those which foster familiy reunions, whereas the spaces in the upper level is destined to the main suite and the games room. As a whole, the architectural design in this home reaches out for wide spaces with unique decorative details.
Ron House was born, in the first place, as a single-family home project which only required a simple redesigning intervention.
However, once the process was initiated, it slowly became into a complete refurbishment, developing a whole new decoration and interior design, both interior and exterior.
This house, located in the city center, acquires a noticeably well-off interior design, perfectly matched to our new times.
As a result, Ron House has certainly been one of Molins’ most daring architecture projects, as for its interior design and its complementary decoration.
A very wide and cared for exterior space is definitely one of the most valuable gems in this single-family home.
It contains a spectacular pool, a relaxing chillout area and a covered and well-conditioned pergola.
In this particular case, our exterior designers converted some architectural obstacles in vital elements, such as the neighbour’s dividing wall which has become a beautiful vertical garden.

The detached annex, designed exclusively by our team, is clearly influenced by Mies Van der Rohe’s well-known Barcelona pavilion, a true masterpiece located in Montjuïc’s feet, in which lightness and minimalism stand out from the other elements in order to create a unique space, becoming one of the city’s most important jewels and mandatory visiting for contemporary architecture lovers.
The exterior pergola is so complete that it could be even considered as the home’s third living room. With its enclosure built in glazed sliding doors, the space brings in the outdoors flooring, and it houses a generous living-dining room, a barbecue kitchen, storage room and a courtesy bathroom.
A centenary oak, originally existing in the property, is used to create a very singular relaxing spot, through a great white swing by design firm Dedon, completed with a comfortable pad and decorative pillows, both upholstered in Jab Anstoetz fabrics by our team.
As for the dividing wall, instead of trying to hide it we decided to emphasize it, creating a spectacular climbing garden designed by our team, equipped with an integrated irrigation system, so it could become a green vertical rug able to generate magical sensations in that particular spot.
Chairs, hammocks and side table next to the pool are also designed by Dedon, and the floor lamp is a work by Vibia.
To design the interior of the pavilion, we planned two clearly differentiated areas: in the first one we found the outdoor living and dining area, equipped with a set of Dedon table and chairs and two suspended lamps by Vibia; in the second area and behind sliding doors covered with vinyl, designed by Molins Design, we installed the kitchen and toilet.
The flooring chosen under the pergola is a technological decking that runs along both the pergola area and the perimeter of the swimming pool, thus creating an aesthetic continuity between the different areas of the garden.
For this great complete refurbishment project, we also contributed with the design and construction of an architectural element which gives the entrance a certain privacy, apart from multiplying the sense of contemporaneity from the main access.
The vast living and dining rooms share the same living space, divided by a module which holds the TV on one of its sides, and is used as a storage cabinet for the dining space on the other. This piece of furniture, with rather impressive aesthetics, is built in black Lacobel-lined melamine and is designed by our creative team.
The living room is composed by a Molins Design custom-made two-seater couch, upholstered in Osborne & Little fabrics, combined with pillows made with Andrew Martin cloth.
Next to this majestic piece, we place two Chester armchairs and a “chaise-longue”-type bench with a roller cushion in every end by Molins Design. The center table is also our own design, made up of an iron structure and a lacquered wood worktop, with side tables composed by an iron foot and a marble top.
The overall image with the combination of these furniture pieces is of an elegant and sophisticated space, although very comfortable and cozy.
In order to equip the dining area, we place a custom-made varnished oak-wood table, alongst 10 Molins designed chairs crafted in an oak-wood structure and upholstered in a James Malone fabric.
The spectacular lamps we installed over the table are a Bloom S5 model, with a black-and-gold exterior Prandina white interior, a very much elegant Italian-designed blown-glass lamp, composed by two lighted glass diffusers bursting in opposite directions.
During this kitchen’s design process, we took concepts of comfort and function this kind of space requires very much into account.
In order to achieve the desired mood, we designed an independent isle for space optimization, choosing white as the unifying colour for this space.

As a unique room, we highlight its suite, which could well be a hotel room.
The upholstered and elegant headboard, together with the room’s light tones, give us clues as to how cosy the whole feels.
For the master bedroom we custom-designed much of the furniture, to create a more than comfortable space, such as the upholstered with Andrew Martin fabric spectacular headboard, the asymmetrical oak bedside tables, the TV cabinet, made of stripped oak wood or the bookcase formed by backlit shelves, also made of stripped oak wood.
We also added one of our favourite pieces to create a reading area, the Lounge Chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames. Suspended lights above the coffee tables are an Artemide design and the reading lamps, Carpyen.
For this home we designed a spectacular custom-made shoe rack with a large storage capacity, made up of backlit white lacquered MDF shelves, a real treat to keep footwear always in perfect condition and in sight to choose the most suitable model for each moment.

The dressing room’s generous size allowed us to distribute it entirely around a central isle. In this way, we broke down barriers and gave chance for the creation of an open dressing room, without any kind of enclosure.
The general furniture of this dressing room, consisting of wardrobes, central isle and a desk, was designed by our interior design team in white lacquered MDF.
As for the decorative lighting, over the central isle we installed a custom-designed pendant lamp with a white fabric shade and an added lamp over the desk by Forestier Paris.
The desk chair is our own design, made in a stainless steel structure and upholstered in Güell-Lamadrid fabric.
The lower floor is dedicated to family time. With large sofas, a game area with pool table and table football, and a large table, the space is perfect for spending a perfect winter familiar Sunday.
Its art pieces and the direct light towards them, as well as the chromatic similarities between furniture and art, are gain a significant presence.
For this recreational area we also designed a large Home Cinema area, to enjoy the best films with the family.
A large U-shaped sofa provides comfort to a spacious and cosy space, completed by two upholstered in grey large side table-poufs.
