Before & After: Gaudir Apartment

Having a small house does not have to be an inconvenience. This is the premise with which we worked in redesigning a loft apartment located in the heart of Barcelona.
Gaudir Apartment is today one of our star interventions. Undoubtedly, a refurbishment project where the use of space was key.
Keys to reform
The ‘open space’ concept takes on special importance when redesigning a loft-style flat. In the project for this small urban caprice, which has a living-dining room linked to a spectacular kitchen with an island. Taking advantage of the entry of natural light into the house, different points of the house were intervened to make it much more practical and functional. In this way, we placed a gas fireplace to make the living room much more comfortable and aesthetic. This element is combined with the construction of a designer library, which is also used as a storage area, and to which a perfect office for teleworking is attached.
The kitchen is also the best kept jewel of the project. Redesigning a loft-style flat of these characteristics also includes being practical and functional. For this reason, the kitchen was designed with drawers that open and close automatically. In addition, each and every one of the materials used in the kitchen combine porcelain tiles with white lacquered cabinets; a plus point that adds spaciousness and grandeur to the room.
For the master bedroom, the open-plan spaces were followed, placing a large dressing room in the room. Different modules, open and closed wardrobes create an ideal space to keep in order all the pieces of clothing and accessories of the owners. Undoubtedly, an essential reform for the owners, lovers of design and fashion.
Both the main bathroom of the house and the one located in the bedroom stand out for optimising the available space to the maximum. To this end, each module or washbasin unit was custom-designed and a set of mirrors was chosen to improve the spaciousness of the rooms.
As for the decoration, it is worth saying that the before and after of Gaudir Apartment is visibly spectacular. To design a loft-style flat like this one, we opted for the use of light colours; between white and toasted tones. In fact, this chromatic line can be found throughout the flat, even in its textiles and decorative accessories. A tonality that combines, finally, with a warm and comfortable lighting design.

A flat that we have transformed into a loft-style house, a small urban whim with all luxury of details. A house with a very peculiar interior design, with diaphanous spaces arranged in a very efficient and functional way.
