Before & After: Baqueira Apartment
Today we will explain the guidelines of the reform for the Baqueira apartment; a project of design and decoration of contemporary style and minimalist features, which results in a private refuge of warm atmosphere and ideal for reconnecting with their environment.
Key points of the project
Baqueira Apartment is a domestic space of 80m2, located in the heart of the Pyrenees. Specifically, in a high mountain area near the ski slopes of Baqueira Beret. Therefore, this house is considered a living space for leisure and family enjoyment, which is usually inhabited by a couple and their two children during the winter months.
The main objective of the renovation was to modify the distribution of the rooms of the house to get much more open spaces. As well as redoing the decoration of the home to make it more functional. All this, without losing the rustic style and some of the classic materials of the mountain houses, such as wood.
One of the most remarkable rooms is the living room and its large gas fireplace. A large and open space, which combines other furniture and decorations in natural wood.
In turn, the kitchen breathes a really pure minimalist air; simple lines, but with a rustic aesthetic typical of mountain houses. Although, the space is equipped with the most innovative appliances on the market and an induction cooking zone hidden under the countertop.
The innovative thing about the wooden furniture that decorates this space is that each decorative accessory is presented as if it were a fully integrated block, without cuts or joints that dismantle the structure.
Rustic wooden furniture that function as storage spaces for all kinds of objects, but also function as decorative elements of housing.
The corner sofa, made with oak and upholstered with wool in green, is also another of the decorative elements star of this reform.
In the bedrooms also dominates the wood as a decorative element, both floors and walls. Another highlight of all the restrooms are the headboards, strategically upholstered with high quality printed fabrics.
For air conditioning, we chose to add an underfloor heating system by demotic control, so that the temperature of the house could be comfortably controlled through a mobile app.
